He mobilized the community and to donate land and his fellow doctors to help in fundraising and build the dispensary. Ogam area being close to the lake is prone to malaria and other water borne diseases were very common. The fishing business in the area and culture of inheriting widows also has led to high prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the area and its neighboring community. The dispensary has thus helped in the reduction of infections and also treatment of the common ailments as well as help in the provision of antiviral through various community health workers in the villages. The dispensary is still growing with services being introduced and it was gazetted in 2009 as one of the facilities that will now be supported and operated with government support.
